Please also see the thread just posted in the (General Section) thread to get an outline of all Stubby's Missing Episodes.
01 Saturday 13 May 1961 BBC Television Juke Box Jury Stubby Kaye Katie Boyle Bunny Lewis +1 Stubby paid 30g for 6.5.61, so episode 13.5.61 must have been recorded.
Here is recent confirmation from the BBC
Yes, although most of the episodes when Juke Box Jury started on the BBC in 1959 were live, from 19/12/59 onwards, and for most of its original run until December 1967, the standard practice was to broadcast one live episode and record the following week’s show straight afterwards, so that they were only in the studio once a fortnight. There was the odd occasion when two episodes were pre-recorded in a single session, for logistical reasons.
Stubby Kaye’s fee would have been in guineas, yes.
The recorded editions of Juke Box Jury were almost always recorded on videotape. I haven’t seen any evidence of recording on 16mm film though it is not impossible – if it was done it was likely to be to review the programme, as I doubt it was ever sold overseas; 16mm was definitely never used to pre-record Juke Box Jury for transmission. Occasionally episodes were pre-recorded on 35mm telerecording however, as was the case with the two complete surviving 1960s editions, from 29/10/60 and 12/11/60.

Could this be the same Billy Hygate as mentioned above? The record is circa 1980 / 1981, so he would be about the right age: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363067353238

Thursday 1 July 1965, besides Stubby's Silver Star Show at 5.00 -5.25 pm, there was also Groucho at 7.30 -8pm, which was recorded on 16 mm film and this edition was found in Groucho Marx's collection in the USA. As they were recording this edition for Groucho, did they perhaps record on the same day the Stubby Silver Star Show for Stubby? I'd be cautious about making such an assumption for one key reason- You Bet Your Life (which is essentially what Groucho was a Rediffusion adaptation of) always filmed (and, when it was radio-only, recorded) in advance and was edited down into final form, and there are a couple of moments in the surviving print of Groucho that suggests that this was produced in the same way. As such, the fact that that edition of Groucho survives may not have any relevance for Stubby's Silver Star Show, especially without knowledge of how the latter was produced.

Breakthrough! ... Audio has been located of one of the episodes of Stubby Kaye's Juke Box Jury. A huge thanks must be said to Kelvin for posting the records played in the Juke Box Jury episodes, it proved effective. Also a pat on the back to this Forum, for it shows that working together, we can get a result! Saturday 11 August 1962 Juke Box Jury Stubby Kaye Juliet Mills Nancy Spain Bunny LewisLOST JUKE BOX JURY - AUGUST 11th 1962www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqDtOK-AJw0 LOST JUKE BOX JURY - AUGUST 11th 1962 Please read the description under this upload. I wonder if that family has any other missing material? This audio is only 18.07 minutes long, all the records played seem to be there, some of the comments by the Panel are missing. This episode had a 30 minute time-slot, 6 - 6.30 pm. There are no comments from Juliet Mills, a little by Bunny Lewis, Nancy Spain does what she normally does, fault finding. Fortunately, there is a considerate and intelligent comment by our man Stubby Kaye at 12.12 minutes to 12.45 minutes about The Ballad Of Paladin by Duane Eddy. He bounces through his comment ending on a light note which should make us all smile. A joy to hear this from Stubby, a privilege to hear this audio, as it seems to be the only known existing material for this episode. Moving on60 Thursday 14 April 1966 Stubby on Tyne Tees - new late night musical Floor Show features Stubby Kaye. Producer of Thursday programme is Anna K. Moore There was also Thursday 19/5/66 Dickie Valentine; Thursday 23/6/66 Janie Marden 11.07 -11.30 pm and the following is from the Harrow Observer Thursday 28/7/66. The first sentence may allude to The West Indies Cricket team ? Second may mean folk-type singer ? could it be Cy Grant or someone else? ... day of the final test at the Oval on August 15. The next day he will appear on the Tyne Tees TV programme Floorshow. and will then take part in a late night folk show at the Edinburgh Festival.
