You want to see this topic behind its own doors? Not that I blame you... but a serious reply is not totally out of the question. Come on your not going to get roundel the topic that easily! I just wanted to know the story of what happened or any extra or side info or insiders info. I have read online that the set was "accidentally destroyed". I think I may have read in DWM or somewhere that a decision was made to get rid of the set. Just seem remiss that JNT didn't even think to offer that original doors wall or the other flats (flat panel walls with roundels) to a group or an exhibition or something like that . Maybe Matt Irvine would know more. For Panopticon they made a replica so.... How was the replica made and was this made to exact specifications. As far as I understand the original wall with the doors including the doors themselves was metal and built very sturdily which is why it was used for over 25years . They do indeed appear in almost every single missing and existing episode and also in telesnaps and photographs. I think the original TARDIS set doors roundels wall was only video taped by the television cameras for the entire 25+years apart from in Tomb of the Cybermen where director Morris Barry wanted to film the TARDIS interior on 16mm film (I am guessing at Ealing) The set looked good on film. Tho I cant recall if the doors were in shot there

I'm assuming the case of the missing doors is still open, as were the doors in the first take of the pilot episode.

I didn't know that all the classic TARDIS sets had the same doors wall? I thought there was a complete rebuild mid-Tom Baker for season fifteen.
The doors weren't shown in The Tomb of the Cybermen, the opening shot shows the Doctor, Jamie and Victoria entering the TARDIS from their point of view. The doors would have been shot on film a few stories later for The Enemy of the World where a split screen was needed before Salamander was sucked out of the TARDIS.

The wall with the doors and the doors themselves had the new roundels stuck inside them. The metal frame they were built on was very strong construction. With the opening mechanism also. They were definitely the same used throughout apart from the secondary control room season 14
