Age 79, I'm in tears over this... one of the most beautiful voices to be put on a record, and one of the most classiest, kindest women to ever grace a stage. Thank you, Judith... for the years of joy and beauty you've given to the world. You are truly an international treasure.

Sad news. Loved The Seekers, and really enjoyed the DVD set with three '60s tv specials.

Very sad indeed to hear this news.
London Weekend's 'Meet Judith Durham' one-off special from 1970 is a favourite of mine and she closes the show perfectly:

I totally agree, her 1970 LWT special is wonderful, the Gospel medley is a tour de force... such perfect vocals and wonderful staging.

Today we all may weep for the passing of an inspiring person and the silencing of a moving voice, one that stirred me when I first heard in it 1964. This news was inevitable some day (one day), given her medical problems, but it is still hard to accept that one of the purest voices in any branch of music is now forever denied us. It's remarkable that, not only could Judith hit that high note in "When the Stars Begin to Fall" just as well at the end of her career as at the beginning but, I feel, she hit it even better. Such a loss for her family and the three lads, and for all Australians. We Poms share your tears today.
