Such a fine actor. I first saw him in Fawlty Towers as Mr. Hutchinson. It still cracks me up.
Mr. Hutchinson : Now listen, there's a documentary on BBC2 this evening about "Squawking Bird", the leader of the Blackfoot Indians in the late 1860s. Now this starts at 8.45 and goes on for approximately three-quarters of an hour. Basil Fawlty : I'm sorry, are you talking to me? Mr. Hutchinson : Indeed I am. Yes, now, is it possible for me to reserve the BBC2 channel for the duration of this televisual feast? Basil Fawlty : Why don't you talk properly?
Rest in peace, good sir, and thanks.

So many things he was part of that I've enjoyed over so many years. Narration of The Wombles and Simon In The Land Of Chalk Drawings, plus a role in The Railway Children onward!

He was also in The Water Babies as both Mr. Masterman & the voice of the Electric Eel. Jon Pertwee was the voice of Jock the Lobster, so another Dr Who connection.

Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD and Bernard as the 'robo man', trying to march and eat his fiddly dinner with each jerky movements in perfect unison with his fully converted colleagues. I loved that sequence so much as a child, I used to imitate it in the school playground and getting other kids (some I didn't really know) to join in and be robo men too. This was in 1991, and I was the only kid in our school that knew of Doctor Who. I only just remembered that. Thanks for the memory kick guys

I can remember seeing Dalek Invasion Earth 2150AD in the mid 1980s & thinking it was a funny scene with all the Robomen eating in unsion while Tom tries to stay in synch.
