I have spent more time than I care to mention, on the rather trivial matter of trying to convince Sweet fans and TOTP fans alike, that the clip of Little Willy by the Sweet is not from the 8th June TOTP, but is in fact from the 6th July. This is the same episode that Bowie performed Starman. Andy Scott had the fingernails of one hand painted black, which Bowie apparently commented on. Anyway here are two screenshots: one is Tony Blackburn introducing Starman, and the other is the camera panning back to Blackburn just as The Sweet are finishing Little Willy.

Here is Tony Blackburn just after Bowie's performance, and here are the Sweet backstage (note Andy Scott's black nail varnish)

I’ve got what it listed as an “off air” copy of that edition, but upon checking it, it’s just a fan reconstruction of the episode. Both of these clips are used, but there’s no presenters shown anywhere in this episode. I guess it’s just a load of orphaned clips edited together.

Surprised that the latest clip of 'The Sweet' doing 'Alexander Graham Bell' on Lift Off has not been mentioned here? Lots of Kaleidoscope love in the media. Looks great too. Just asking again, was there ANY Move/Roy Wood stuff on those computer tapes?

Just asking again, was there ANY Move/Roy Wood stuff on those computer tapes? Just looked at the three songs by Sweet from Lift Off recently posted on youtube. I'm surprised Wig-Wag Bam and Blockbuster wasn't re-dubbed to get rid of the wobbly sound since they're mimed. It's a real shame what happened to the Lift Off tapes seeing this footage.
