Well, it gives pretty much all the information you need in the ebay article - it was a BBC made film, first shown on 29/6/60, the day of the first transmission from TV Centre. Contrary to what it says about the colour sequence, this was not forward-looking fiction, it's an accurate representation of the colour test programmes that were broadcast around that time (although like many of the sequences, it probably wasn't actually unstaged...). The film is held in its original 35mm format by the BBC - plus umpteen 16mm copies, one or two of which are listed as missing - I'm guessing one of them is this copy...

It would be far more expensive than that to get a copy from the BBC, and very difficult...

As the seller, I'd just like to point out that this print was acquired perfectly legally from a collector in Australia and purchased in good faith. It was not stolen from the BBC as the previous post may lead you to believe. It was released on 16mm at some point as I have a photocopy of the distributors booklet somewhere that accompanied the film on it's release.
