Dear all, A partial 18 minute audio of the 6th February 1969 TOTP has surfaced on Mixcoud from 'Betaman', link shared by Jack Mortimer of Duggystone Radio on Facebook. www.mixcloud.com/JackMortimer4053/top-of-the-pops-6th-february-1969/?fbclid=IwAR3in_J_tr-H2O5XWvt7sO8SsZagBBIc0zbnTMDAMsklDldXe_4V_03bfxACalling Thomas Walsh, includes an extract of The Move 'Blackberry Way' with a live vocal (accompanied by a budgie). Fleetwood Mac's Albatross was the number one that week and the accompanying film was subject to a bizarre complaint to Melody Maker's letters page "We were subjected to a most disgusting scene in the Fleetwood Mac film; namely a dog gyrating in an open umbrella. The umbrella left alone by the sea suggested that the boy and girl had stripped completely naked and gone for a swim together. This is going too far." Oh well....

I've not seen that Fleetwood Mac Albatross film! Unfortunately Mixcloud doesn't load for me. Is it really something like as described? A B&W film of them miming to Albatross has Jeremy pretending to play some of Green's or Kirwan's bits as I remember it, they are mostly just standing about, so this one sounds much more colourful!

The Wilson Pickett "Hey Jude" is interesting - is Alan Freeman welcoming him to the studio and if so, who's playing behind him? It sounds live but cuts out just before the Duane Allman solo from the original recording. Can't believe the TOTP Orchestra managed to sound like the Stax boys! Stuart
