Thanks for your kind words everyone! The book is receiving some very good reviews, including in 'Record Collector' and 'Shindig' magazine. I also got a celebrity plug yesterday!

Nice clear interview I did a couple of days back with Jacqui James for Gateway 97.8 FM in Essex (I've done a few interviews lately but this is probably the best!).

Peter that was a very lively and entertaining half hour. Some great camaraderie in the studio with much infectious enthusiasm. Well done!

It helped that Jacqui is an excellent interviewer (It actually went out live too, something I didn't realise was going to happen until a couple of minutes before hand - fortunately I managed not to swear or screw up my words too much!).

A nice interview I did for Radio Essex last night (also included are 3 of my favourite records from the 1964-1975 era!)...

A good listen again Peter - bought the physical copy of the book off Amazon a couple of days ago - was tiresome scrolling through the ebook version
Thanks again - BTW are you thinking of doing a volume 2 - rest of the 70's maybe
Cheers
John

Hi Peter, I got the '64-'75 book for Christmas and it's a fascinating read! Well done to you and thanks. I loved some of the artist quotes especially a, for me, priceless one from John Sebastian. Also loved the Cliff memory of The Who throwing wigs at him! Also great to see the photo of The Seekers 'The Carnival Is Over' rehearsal from Christmas Day '65. Does the Alan Freeman intro shown on the 'Sounds of the Sixties' TV series come from that same performance? Anyway really interesting stuff. I suppose we won't be getting a re-showing of pre April '76 TOTP editions as BBC4 have passed on the 8th January 1976 show. I thought the two extra shows on Friday format was a golden opportunity to repeat some vintage shows but I guess it won't happen. I still hold out some hope of 6th March 1969 being shown next March. Come on Beeb! Well done Peter for selecting The Love Affair from that edition as a still for the front cover. My favourite clip from that precious '60s edition. A merry Christmas to all contributors. Michael

Hi Michael,
Glad you like it. I was really pleased to get some nice celebrity quotes for this and the 2nd TOTP book. Regarding the Love Affair pic on the cover, ALL the screen shots on the TOTPs books are of people/bands who contributed quotes.
Incidentally, I keep getting asked when the 3rd volume is coming, and the answer is almost certainly never (I have considered it, but I just don't think I could face spending 6 months writing about artists that I have zero interest in!).
Merry Christmas everyone.
Peter C.

Hi Peter, yes, didn't recognise all of the stills initially! Really good to see a colour still of, I think, Arrival. Love 'Friends' and only know the b & w clip. Oh and thanks for finally confirming what I've long assumed to be correct; that the much repeated clip of 'Let's Spend The Night Together' comes from 26th January 1967. Time and again I've seen it listed as just from the surviving Christmas '67 show but any Stones fan would know that they look very similar to the photo in Green Park in Jan '67 (Brian I think has exactly the same clothes) and nothing like their image around the time of '2000 Light Years From Home'.
