Either it’s grown on me or tangible improvements have been made but the animation style looks somewhat superior to the initial footage released. Definitely more fluid and certainly preferable to the divisive Fury’.
Extras, whilst not extensive, seem quite good as well.
Looking forward to 16th August then!

I also thought the animation style looked pretty good 👍 and the extras also look fine 👍
The cynic in me - yes, really! - sees it as something that would slot quite nicely into a BluRay Season Five box set. Looking at what we’re getting nowadays the addition of a “Behind the Sofa” type featurette would probably be added.
Perhaps I could speculate……
As regards Season Five my money - metaphorically! - is now on Wheel for animation. There was an opportunity to do Snowmen as well and release it with WoF as a “Yeti Tales” set but that seems to have been missed.
One - sobering - conclusion must be that WoF3 is now considered irretrievable 👎 If however it was recovered it’d certainly go in a BluRay set which would then have the telesnaps reconstruction and animation as extras!

Not so sure John, the animation to me looks like it’s been done on the cheap, possibly because of the potential for recovery of the episode, if it wasn’t, well what can I say other than I’m very disappointed.

No, it's not been done "on the cheap."
And no, it has nothing to do with any mythical existance of the real Episode 3. Those sort of things aren't factored into any decisions on these sort of projects.

Those sort of things aren't factored into any decisions on these sort of projects. Ah, right then so it’s just poor decision making about the source & style of the animation then. Also the existence of Episode 3 at the time of PM’s recovery of the other episodes doesn’t seem to be an issue of debate, it does make it more likely to survive because of the relatively short gap between then & now, ie the longer something is missing the more chance there is of harm coming to it

Nope. It's just that *you* don't like it. And that's absolutely fine. That doesn't mean that it wasn't a perfectly valid course to take with this one and it doesn't mean that other people aren't wrong for liking the approach, which they evidently do.
Whether the film print of Episode 3 was ever there with the others in the first place and then subsequently vanished has never actually been proven. But assuming that it did, it doesn't make it any more likly that it will resurface again, hence the reason that these things are not a factor in the decision making.

But if you take the time to look at the other thread you will see I’m not alone. 😁
