Morning, all. Just wanted to check something out - on the missing episode list, the Adventure Game episode dated 21/06/80 is listed as missing - the one with Paul Darrow and Leslie Judd. However, I've just received a copy of this on DVD in a trade ...
Does the list need updating or is this (unlikely as it sounds) genuinely missing from Auntie's archives??

A copy of this episode was returned to the BBC in 2002.

Still missing episodes of "Adventure Game" are 31/5/80, 9/11/81 & 23/11/81.

Regarding the above information; how did the editions listed go missing? Were they wiped accidentally, and if so when did this happen (or when was it discovered to have happened). Also the edition returned in 2002, was it broadcast quality or an off-air recording?

I think the Paul Darrow episode is still listed as missing in the hopes that someone returns a better quality copy (presumably broadcast quality). If the episode were removed from the list, most people would just assume the BBC has no interest in additional copies of the episode.
But then again, I could be wrong.

Certainly, the copy I have is nowhere near broadcast quality. Having said that, it's perfectly watchable. Nice beard, by the way, Mr Darrow...

Presumably this would originate from an off-air VHS or Betamax, so even if they located the original recording it wouldn't be broadcast quality, though it does mean clips might show up if a clip-show ever felt the need of such. I wonder how far down the copying line the BBC's recovered copy is?
If it's a Lesley Judd episode I presume it's one of the "Mole, Mole, go to your hole" series with Judd as said interloper? I'd love to see one of that series again, as I've seen a first series show quite recently, and some of the later ones, but none from the "Mole" run.

Someone on UKNova has been digitising and uploading series 1 episodes (three so far) and has said they've got the Paul Darrow s2 ep (and another s1 ep and a s3 ep), so *fingers crossed* it'll appear on there sometime in the near future.
