I've enjoyed the latest issue. As well as a very good article about On the buses, there are others on Shazam! the TV series, A For Andromeda, Kinky Boots and other unlikely chart contenders, Lionel Thanthorpe of Fortean TV fame (and much else)...
Next issue, out 1st April, has features on Adam Adamant, 77 Sunset Strip, the 40th anniversary of Tom Baker becoming the Doctor, Mark Anthony Craig who won a Look-In competition to meet Gerry Anderson and went on to create his own model work. Great stuff.
Blimey, didn’t realise Infinity was still going (pun not intended but perhaps should’ve been)!
Frustratingly it’s not sold anywhere near me anymore so I only get it fleetingly (I could always subscribe I suppose) yet the few issues I have managed to buy have been consistently excellent... even if an extreme minority of articles have a decided whiff of ‘culled from Wikipedia over a lunch break’ about them!
Hope it continues for many more years though. Good stuff.
It's a consistently good magazine. One of the few I actually keep these days. So few genre magazines have survived. SFX goes on, but Sci-Fi Now and Starburst have vanished (unless they are now only digital). However my Smiths don't carry much not even DWM these days.
Their announcement from a year ago makes wry reading:
Due to the ongoing situation regarding the lockdown in force both in the UK and abroad we have taken the decision not to publish issue 209 of The Dark Side or issue 27 of Infinity on April 30th. These issues will now hit the shops on June 11th when hopefully all of this sad situation will be behind us. We have gathered many new subscribers in recent days and are very grateful for their support, but since 85% of our sales still come from shops it would be unfair to put these issues out at a time when most people aren’t visiting these places. infinitymagazine.co.uk/coronavirus-update/
