I was wondering if anyone here knows anything more about this....
www.ewbankauctions.co.uk/20201130-lot-5180-Terrahawks-41-Film-reel-boxes-containing-16mm-film-reel-of-the-episodes?arr=0&auction_id=0&box_filter=0&category=&department_id=&exclude_keyword=&export_issue=0&high_estimate=0&image_filter=0&keyword=16mm%20film&list_type=list_view&lots_per_page=10&low_estimate=0&month=&page_no=0&paper_filter=0&search_type=&sort_by=lot_number&view=lot_detail&year=
According to the info in the above link it appears that on the 30th of November 2020, 41 16mm film reels of the 1980's Gerry Anderson series Terrahawks were sold for £1,400 at Ewbanks auction in Woking.
Looking at a few sources as of the Blu Ray release in 2016: 4 of the 39 Terrahawks episodes were still missing in their original 16mm format and therefore couldn't be transferred in native hd.
These were the episodes: Go(l)d, Thunder Roar, Time warp and Cold Finger.
As far as I know these 4 missing episodes of Terrahawks are only officially archived on 1" video tape transfer for broadcast. I believe the negatives for all 39 episodes are still missing but the remaining 35 16mm episodes have been transferred in HD from 16mm prints.
Zooming in on the photograph of the Lot of 41 film reels I can see at least 3 of the missing titles and also a dupe print of one of them.
Is this discovery known about(?) and does this mean the blu-ray releases will be due an upgrade? Of course that would depend on the co-operation of whoever bought these in auction unless they were copied or transfered before auction. Does anyone here know the current archive status of this?

*note: From searching this forum - under a thread called 'Ricky's Vault' posted in 2014, it is mentioned that the 16mm film negatives for Terrahawks were being stored at a film holdings in Rickmansworth that closed down or possibly moved location. The name of the holding archive was Ricky's Vaults and was located at number 26, Ebury Road, Rickmansworth.
