Hope I have got this right? but link below appears to have come from the estate of Dave Cash and is part of the pilot of his TV show (but called a radio program) that got sporadic if any showings on the ITV Network. I say part of the pilot as I was sure the pilot was an hour slot? The IMDB seems almost correct in the cast listing but does not mention Sammy Davis Junior which is perhaps not surprising as there is very little details of this around simply because it may have never been transmitted in the UK.They also call it 'the Dave Cash comedy hour' Which may mean that as an hour long programme it had comedy sketches which perhaps didn't go down well with whoever and it was cut down to a half hour slot seen here...don't know.. Dave Cash on EbayThe actual series also got abysmal treatment by the ITV network, for example transmitting one which included The Sweet singing Alexander Graham Bell when they were well into Blockbuster.

Not seen it, but I think you can be assured that it would not have been a routine suits in studio performance but a somewhat different performance from a somewhat wacky location in the S.West (Gene Pitney on the M4 etc) I put the trivia on the IMBD that the 'full' pilot also seemed to have spawned a minor hit in the UK 'Groovy Baby' by 'Microbe' which featured the ramblings of a toddler backed up by the Dusty Springfield gang. His eccentric but lovable side kick Hilary Pritchard was originally called 'Cunitia' in the pilot which must have caused a few frowns LOL.

The Hollies performance, which was shot in a studio, was on those 405-line computer tapes that had recently sold through auction. click for pic

Quite a few clips were included, were they not, in the music unlimited series. E.g. Edison lighthouse, hot chocolate.
It was one of the first music tapes to come out, way back in 77.

I actually bid on that Dave Cash Radio Show print at the original auction, but it went for too much money for me. Funnily enough though I did successfully bid on another 16mm reel from the same collection, which - it turns out - was mis-described in the auction details. When I looked at the first few frames by hand when it arrived - don't have a 16mm viewer sadly - I wasn't sure what exactly I was looking at. But now I've seen the photos from the eBay auction I've realised that it most likely contains unedited footage of the same Sammy Davis Jnr interview (at the start anyway, maybe there's other stuff on there too also.) I've offered it to Kal anyway so they can take a proper look.

They eventually made it to dvd too- You may want to look out for an unpromising-looking dvd called 'Sensational Sounds Of The 70s' which actually features 40 of those performances.

What's the quality like? Judging by the reviews below, I suspect they're transferred from ancient VHS tapes (which in turn were transferred from faded old film), but I'd love to be proved wrong! www.amazon.co.uk/Sensational-Sounds-70s-Vol-DVD/dp/B00004WZX0/

The quality is really poor particularly the audio. Same as the VHS tapes then (I never had them, but a friend owned some and transferred them to DVD for me).

The only difference between the VHS and dvd is the artwork and title. Shame as they are great promos and deserve better!
