I apologise if this has been covered before, but exactly how much of Out of the trees still survives? I have ehard conflciting reports rangin from "The whole episode in slightly grainy form", to "all the pre-filmed sketches" to "only the peony sketch". Alos, and I know this second bit doesn't really have anything to do with missing episodes, but does anyone know of a place where you could find the script for the never-recorded second episode with the Haddock?

I never heard reports of the entire episode. Rumours of a tape that had not been checked yet, but no real news. The peony piece survived because it was outides, so recorded on film. It is included in the Hitch hiker's guide dvd - the series, not the movie.

There was a thread on the Mausoleum Club about this. I'll have a search for it. I can't recall where the tape came from, but Dick Fiddy said he'd let us know when he had any news on what was on the tape. However, this was a while ago, so I don't know if no news might be bad news in this case.

In any case, I got the impression it would have been very low quality, as it would have been recorded with a very early reel-to-reel system.
Maybe "no news" = "we forgot"?
