Hi there,
Not a missing episode more a missing ad!
If anybody has any info where i might be able to find the 1959 Advert for Pink Camay sung by Matt Monro please let me know.
Even an audio recording would do!
Proctor and Gamble do not have it, Neither do:
The BFI The National Sound Archive The History of Advertising Trust Archive
A bloak on Ebay claimed to have it (he has a good rating) then withdrew from the auction - No reply to any e-mails to him either yet!
Any help is appreciated
Richard

Have you tried the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford? They were given all the commercials from the old ITC Library in London when it closed down and there were many old 16mm & 35mm prints in that library...

What about somewhere like a Matt Munro fan club or appreciation society?

Ah well that's the problem you see - It's them or rather Matt's Daughter that i'm trying to trace it for!

A Google search reveals a Matt Munro website www.mattmunro.com. How you tried contact them for the name of his agent? Or his record company? There is a message board there. You would have to prove your intent and probably ask them to ask her to contact you as they probably wouldn't want to give out personal details to just anyone.

Thought you may have been working with Michele Munro! Have you tried the company that owns the Camay name now? They may well have an 1) in-house archive or 2) be able to tell which advertising company made the ad who may also still hold a copy in their archives. Good luck!

My sincere apologies for mis-reading your posting and for mis-spelling Matt's name. Camay is owned by Proctor and Gamble and this page has some contact numbers - www.uk.pg.com/contactUs/contactUs.htmlGood Luck

You could try contacting Campaign Magazine, the advertising industry bible. Send them a letter or, better still, ring them up. www.brandrepublic.com/magazines/campaign/Tell them where you've tried and suggest they might write an article asking for ideas. Good Luck.

Thanks guys will give them a try!
And by the way i'm being paid a very round number for this too!
Namely £0.000!
I'm helping Michele as a friend. I certainly don't get paid for my research!
Although I have worked for the estate as a Audio Restoration engineer recently.
