Can anybody confirm that the Beach boys "dance dance dance" actually survives?. Its been quoted in several places that the song was performed but i've certainly never seen it. Maybe it never made it on the transfer from video to film? Would they have performed a song on 6th November, 1964 that wouldn't be released in the UK until 8th January, 1965?

Very possibly, John - "Dance Dance Dance" had already been released as a single in the USA in October 1964.

I expect that we will see it come out via BMG.

Kev, They performed "I Get Around" and "When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)." www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F4JZP6sM2Q That's great news about them also performing "Dance, Dance Dance" on this show. Hope to see it one day.

At least this is what appeared on the (US) Disney channel broadcasts, circa 1989-90. This is when the Disney channel still showed vintage programs and movies during prime time (before they switched entirely to children's and pre-teen programs.) These appear to have been the same Dave Clark edited episodes that were shown in the U.K. in the 1980s.

I saw a compilation of stuff from Ready Steady Go which was on a channel we get, I'm thinking it's this 'best of' part? I watched it 'on demand' and ff-ed through the lipsynch stuff by girl singers (even Dusty)... the best parts were The Rolling Stones not lipsynched in any way doing Paint It Black and then they, Loog-Oldham and Cathy McGowan the host sending up Sonny & Cher's I Got You with really hammy lipsynching! Quite bizarre. Otis Redding with Eric Burdon was fairly cool too (again, no lipsynching), and also early Who doing Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere, but Them totally lipsynched on their first appearance doing Baby Please Don't Go. Points to The 'Walker' Brothers as they didn't lipsynch. Other than live actual performances the rest is pointless to me. I wish they'd just not bother reshowing the miming stuff no matter how a big a name the artist is/was. The coolest stuff on those German Beat Club/Beat Beat Beat shows was The Monks or The Liverbirds actually performing to a crowd dancing and reacting, but when they'd cut to some tedious pop charts 'star' emoting to their 'hit' record it totally kills the vibe.
I'd enjoy the doc about the show if I can ever find it...

Thanks for that, just watched and enjoyed (well, except about A-R wiping a James Brown special and many other shows)! My BF says he's caught the very end of it on a U.S. PBS station twice, so sending a link to him and all!
