The Beatles' Jukebox Jury episode wouldn't go a miss! I believe Phil Morris said something like "possibly" or "maybe" when asked if he was on the trail of finding this (can't remember the exact word/phrase he used). What a find this would be.

For those wondering: it was an 8mm fan recording of The Beatles performing Paperback Writer on TOP OF THE POPS. Had no audio but they've paired the audio of the song to this fan footage and it looks great.
The owner seemed like a splendid guy who was thrilled to have contributed to handing in some lost footage that's been sat in his attic all these years.
He says he only found out about it because of a campaign for lost material recently. It really does show that these campaigns are worthwhile: we've had stuff from Dad's Army and Z-Cars as a result of them before. The BBC should continue to do them.

Good quality video of Elton John - Chris remarked on Facebook that they had managed to improve the quality on a lot of the footage they screened at the Kal event in June.

The sequence is up on You Tube with the sound track changed for copyright reasons if you look for it.
