22.04.1965 Dublin Pickin’ the Pops PRO SHOT RTÉ IRE PAL/BW Slow Down You Fool Me All the Time (?) Rory’s first ever appearance on TV. 'Pickin' the Pops' was a Saturday evening show presented by Larry Gogan.
Does anyone know if this footage exists?

Extremely unlikely, sadly.
Bear in mind, William rte started very late (1961) and was a one station, monochrome enterprise until the early 70's I think. It had a tiny budget and wipings were even more common place than the UK. e.g. there is little traditional Irish music on vt or film until the 80's, and those rare 60's and 70's clips have been used on come west along the road.
Did you know they had their own Old Grey Whistle Test type show in the early 70's? Must have had bands like Horslips and Planxty, I think.
If the Rory clip existed, I'm sure it would have been in the bbc4 docu. That has some nice 70's concert footage of Taste and Rory's band.
