Good publicity for MEs 😀
When BBC2 show the two recovered M&Ws on Boxing Day the first has a 40min slot - looks we’ll get 10 mins on the search, recovery, etc.

Surprisingly, despite the TV publicity, there are still over a hundred tickets available on the BFI website for the "Music and More" event this afternoon, and about the same for the later "Philip Morris Presents..." I grabbed a couple of tickets on the day of release for the TIEA event expecting them to sell out within a day or two - a month later and it seems there just aren't enough people in and around London interested enough to go to these events at this time of the year. Even my son, who was supposed to be coming with me, changed his mind yesterday, so if anyone wants a free front row seat to see Mr Morris let me know ASAP...

I attend as many kal events as I can as I'm a Brummie. The only time I ventured down to dat der London was for the Bob Monkhouse one. The train/coach turns me off and by the time you factor everything in, it's not a cheap day. I remember trying to get BFI tickets years ago for a Monty Python thing but was told it was members only. I think some people still see the BFI as a tad old school and unreliable. Plus you have the Christmas crush, it's bloody freezing and there's footie matches and parties to attend. So the interest might be there, but maybe a March date would be better. Hope the day goes well and 2019 will have lots of recoveries.

I suspect there are a fair few at the BFI who just go through the motions but are not that bothered if an event is a success or not. IMHO a regional tour of say local cinemas would of allowed those who remember the subject matters first hand (and therefore may not be that agile enough to travel long distances)..or the young who might be taking a new interest in the subjects ( but can't afford a London day out) a chance to see the show. .

The quality was fantastic.
My Old Man's a Tory also looked pretty damned good quality wise.
