Came across a Listing on the BBC Genome page for The Record Star Show which apparently ran for several years in the sixties.
The synopsis reads :
It's the highlight of the pop year ... the show that packs together more stars and more disc-jockeys than any commercial management could ever afford to put on the same bill. The big names all appear free-to raise money for the Stars Organisation for Spastics. There were two performances at the Empire Pool Wembley last Sunday and a BBC-tv outside broadcast team was there to record the programme you'll see tonight. With a line-up that reads like a hit-parade chart, you're certain of fifty swinging minutes.
Tv Brain says the 1968 and 1969 shows are missing, but nothing about the April 66 and April 67 shows - Anyone has any info ?

My brother Pete Carney was the bass player in the Ram Jam Band at this time and has a pretty large collection of surviving tv broadcasts of the time but never seen any footage of the 1967 broadcast.
Also as a pretty avid follower of pop on tv in those days I'm surprised that I have no memory of these programmes

How many of these shows were actually made? I found this listing from the Coventry Evening Telegraph which has a line-up I never knew about including The Move. It's from late March 1968.
