Interesting to note that BEATWAVE was produced by Derek Batey, who joined Border TV in 1961 and went on to host MR & MRS for them from 1967-1988. Not many Border productions were networked on ITV so I doubt many people outside of Cumbria will have heard of BEATWAVE. It also makes it highly unlikely that it would have been archived but you never know...

I had a look at some newspaper listings and it appears that 'Beatwave' (sometimes listed as 'Beat Wave') was a short music programme that Border showed on an occasional basis. I found listings for the following dates:
29 September 1965 25 December 1965 24 December 1966 26 December 1966 11 October 1967
Anglia and Scottish TV broadcast a couple of episodes each and I think Grampian showed it once.
I haven’t been able to find any more details regarding guests or production credits.

Hi William,
The dates I gave above are for the Border region only, so further information about these might not be available in Scottish libraries.
I think 'Beatwave' was only shown on STV on the following dates:
20 March 1967
11 October 1967

The group's name had me thinking of: "A Raisin in the Sun is a play by Lorraine Hansberry that debuted on Broadway in 1959.[1] The title comes from the poem "Harlem" (also known as "A Dream Deferred"[2]) by Langston Hughes. The story tells of a black family's experiences in the Washington Park Subdivision of Chicago's Woodlawn neighborhood as they attempt to "better" themselves with an insurance payout following the death of the father. The New York Drama Critics' Circle named it the best play of 1959." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Raisin_in_the_SunThe film, with Sidney Poitier,(which came out on DVD a while back),was released in 1961. The group was formed in 1966. A bit tenuous, maybe. p.s.Anyone remember these: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_California_Raisins

The Daily Mirror dated Saturday the 31st December 1966 (my 11th birthday) had Beatwave on at 2.50pm to 3.15pm in between Farming Diary and The Wren Library (exciting stuff for an 11 yr old!)
