The schedule for the new ITV3 appears to be stuffed with bleeding Morses and Frosts again? Is this case? if so what is the point of this channel?

No point at all, at least as far as giving the viewers any more genuine choice is concerned. More duplication, that's all.

It takes Sherlock Holmes 60 minutes to solve a case. it takes Morse 2 hours, that means that morse is half as intelligent as Holmes and of course fills twice the shedule time.
the thought process of ITV3 is then
Morse+Frost=Very Poular TV
therefore
ITV3 +(Morse + Frost)=Popular Channel.

I have a feeling it is I can immagine them discussing it now, I remember Armando Innuichi on the news quiz talking about a brainstorming session at channel 4, expanding the house doctor idea, clothes doctor, car doctor, garden doctor were all put foreward including Body doctor, until they realised that, "Thats what a doctor is".
as with ITV3 it smacks of desparation

The point of ITV3 is to get even more money from advertisers!

and for that they need viewers, its all starting to make sense now, speaking for myself I could quite happily live the rest of my life without ever seeing a morse or frost (anorak-the morse code at the begining of each episode realy spells T.T.O.R.S.E-anorak) If they want lots of viewers then they could make some new good programs and then show them.

granada plus HAS closed down, despite rummors some months ago and denied by g+ due to the ITV3 here is the "official" G+ line as on their web site: After the recent acquisition of GSB by ITV, PLUS will cease broadcasting at 4.30pm on Monday 1 November.
You will be pleased to know that some of your favourite PLUS programmes will be found in the future on ITV3.
We would like to thank all our viewers for their loyalty and support over the past 8 years.
Goodbye from everybody at PLUS.
What a pity, does this mean we have no chance of seeing ALL of granada's superb archive of pop tv again. I think so

Quantum Leap wasn't a BBC show - it was a US import. However I don't tihnk ITV3 would really screen old TOTP, to be honest.

ITV4 is far superior showing all the old classic sixties series like Randall & Hopkirk, Department S, Jason king & The Champions. Top Marks there!

I think I have to eat my orginal words some what about ITV3 They have done well in the last year with the schedule Dont you think ? Hannay, Raffles, Rumpole of the Bailey, Robin of Sherwood, A Bit of a Do, The Beiderbecke serials, Rising Damp, Hammer House of Horror, the Brett Sherlock Holmes, Outside Edge, Cribb, Survival, Jeeves and Wooster ... and quite a few more .. as well as some US imports and films and even the odd BBC carry over from Granada Plus like The Two Ronnies. Just about the most varied selection of archive series on any digital channel ... and considerably more varied archive fare than ITV4
