Over the years, we've always had the impression that nothing exists from early pre-Biddy Baxter BP, though INFAX lists three 1958 editions, including the first. Does something exist from these? Interesting that even if they are long gone, they might have once been there!

They're just listed as a transmission record of when the first three episodes went out - there are no film or vt holdings listed for them.

I am sure that the first and a few subsequent editions of Blue Peter did exist (and might still exist, somewhere) because I remember a clip where Christopher Trace and Leila Williams and introduced the show.
This would have been sometime in the late seventies / early eighties.
So, they should be around.

Trace and Williams both appeared on an anniversary edition - presumably the twentieth in 1978 (must be on INFAX somewhere - I'll have a look!)
It'll never happen, but I'd love to see some of the early, pre-Biddy days, when apparently it was mainly Chris playing with trains and Leila playing with dolls - it sounds quite radically different to the programme we know today.
