Does anyone know why the first Danger Mouse pilot no longer exists? The DVD release that features the second pilot says that the first is "yet to be found", which makes it sound merely mislaid!

...and ironically, when aired in the U.S.A., DM was paired with "Bananaman" featuring TBT, Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie, of missing episodes fame ("Broaden Your Mind", "1948 Show", missing color episodes of "The Goodies", etc.)

Grumbledook!! You stand accused! Of what? Other than being Grumbledook? As a sidebar, I just discovered UK Nova. Downloaded four episodes of Callan already. An excellent site.

Not too long ago, I googled the word "Grumbledook", wondering what the origins of the word was. I couldn't find anything other than the Blackadder episode, so I suppose it came from there. I think Blackadder was a sort of epiphany for me. I first saw it in 1988 on A&E [Back then, watching British television in the U.S. meant watching PBS and A&E.] After watching the first episode of the first series, my brother thought it was stupid and I thought it was excellent and became a fan. Of course back then my knowledge of missing episodes consisted of knowing that not all the Doctor Whos were available.
