There is a fabulous clip on one TV Site showing the start of the original Black and White series of Music Time with Mari Griffiths and Ian Humphris.
I was wondering if this series that was repeated right through until 1977 still exisits in the BBC Vaults - would love to see a full edition as my brother was one of the chidren who played the percussion instruments!
I also remember a schools show called Sam on Boffs Island starring a very young Tony Robinson - it was a schools programme I do believe but was so popular that a Childrens Annual was published one Christmas.
Finally who remembers Paulus the Wood Gnome? Does this show still exist?

Looking at INFAX, it appears that most exist (if not all) are archived. I had forgotten that they used 'Peter and the Wolf' as an easy way of showing different intruments and tempos in an attractive way. With the 70s being a much more colourful world, both the presenters looked trapped in the 60s, Mari Griffiths often trilling away in a world more interested in glam rock and pop. Someone here will probably know, but I think the colour editions followed the same pattern, probably using 'Peter and the Wolf' too?

TV Ark www.tv-ark.org.uk/Would love to see the complete show! As for the series in general from what I re-call the black and white series with Ian Humphris and Mari Griffith ran until 1977. This was replaced by the first colour series with Australian Peter Coombe and Soprano Kathryn Harries -Peter and the Wolf also featured in this. Later in the eighties Jonathon Cohen and Helen Speirs took over presenting the last of the series.

Paulus was first shown in the London area around 1967 by Rediffusion (no idea if it was networked or shown separately by other regions though). This was when I first saw it myself, although it may have been repeated later again after Thames took over - not sure. I wonder what happened to the English transmission prints though? Does anyone know if the English-speaking versions would have been prepared for use here generally or for the specific ITV sale? If the former then maybe there's a reasonable chance that they are still around. I know that when the Tales From Europe DVDs came out, there was difficulty with locating English versions of some. I tried that link you posted but it doesn't seem to come up with anything (difficult to know for sure though as it's in Dutch!)
