Just thought I'd mention that my DVD of the above arrived this morning (Saturday) from play.com. And what a dissapointment!
I've only checked the first disc, however out of the five episodes on it only "The Train Journey" has been left with it's original opening and closing titles. All the others have the dreadful clunky 1986 graphics which were presumably sellotaped on to make the episodes look more presentable for their run-out on BBC1 around this year and also their BBC Video release.
Also I would swear that certianly "The Economy Drive" is from a print of a far less-superior quality than that used for its UK Gold repeat last year.
What the hell is it with the BBC? When will they...oh I'm not going to bother. It's just so annoying that they finally get to the fifth series, they haven't lost anything of it since 1959, so they knacker them a bit in the name of presentation.
It's still EXCELLENT though! Hancock and James still shine after 50 years, the scripts are excellent, the whole programme is a joy...just me being a completist.
