I was watching the excellent BBC Four repeat of the Beatles MMT documentary from 2012 recently and couldn’t help wondering as it’s 50 years since the original screening on BBC2 on Boxing Day 1967,whether the BBC would repeat it in its original time slot...not holding my breath though....any thoughts on this?

MMT was first shown in b&w on BBC1 from 8:35 Boxing Day 1967. It was later shown on BBC2 on 5th January, 1968 (in colour for the few who had colour sets at the time). Should it be repeated this year my guess would be that it will be on BBC4, not in the original time slot, and probably not on Boxing Day.

The documentary is a lot more entertaining than the show.

MMT seems better now, than it probably did at the time. Ironically, it is as nostalgic for the days of coach outings, as it is for The Beatles

I think of it as a Beatles home movie with an amusingly odd soundtrack. From that point of view it's fine.
