Hi all,
Anyone know who to contact to find out info about the ITC archive?
I've tried all sorts of ways but have so far hit a brick wall.
Granada Ventures won't answer my e-mails, Granada International refuses to help and the ITN archive has nothing listed.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Richard

You could try the carlton archive or Network DVD. I don't know the contact details for these so you will have to wait a bit until another member reads this forum & gives the contacts.

Yes utterly useless! They can give you details of anything already listed on the ITN archive site but nothing else! (that's if they reply at all!)

Probably not surprising as they are geared up for corporate sales and international business dealings which - rather than queries from fans or researchers. There is suppossed to be an online search facility on the Granada Int (formerly Carlton Int) site isn't there ... "coming soon" when I last looked. Probably wait until the Carlton/ATV side (rather than the previously owned Granada archives present on the ITN site) has been fully catalogued and then listed on the site .. when this will be, who knows? Until then they probably don't know the programme titles themselves! If you want to buy a specific programme - and know all the relevant details ... and have deep pockets, you can try the order form found on the itv.com site.

No, that won't help because the search facility will only be open to subscribers and they are very fussy about who they let join!
I know i've tried! Sombebody must know something somewhere!

I've just looked at the registration page on Granada International .... and they have a tab for "general public" .. so I can't see why you cannot register there in that capacity - although I haven't tried.

A lot of the ATV material still remains largely uncatalogued. ITC probably have one of the largest surviving libraries for vintage variety and music shows in the '50's and '60's but they deny owning this material. A few years ago Carlton International signed a deal with Reelin' in the Years to sift through and represent their musical catalogue. They take a percentage presumably on clip sales etc. Its run by David Peck, an offhand supercilious individual who detests enquiries from individuals, even if it is for the altruistic purposes of research. Youll find his unsettling physog on every page of his website though, ingratiating himself with anyone he considers a 'star' and giving them archive tv material for free. His company have penetrated deep into this market, however, representing many tv musical archives around the world.
