At least some witty so-and-so sees the humourous side of all this.

(snork!) Ed, that is damn funny. Where is the image from? From a new series of Ladybird books. As funny as it is, there's something familiar about the wording ('lovingly' for example). I'm fairly sure it was written by a fan of MEs.

In all candor, I must admit I am no fan of Nu-Who in any way (to each his own), but that comment about the BBC is an absolute riot. Tom

(From 1990) BBC decided that the 100:1 ROI for Doctor Who didn't make up for the embarrassment of being associated with the series, so they gave all the existing copies to the editors of DWB.

The Ladybird Book of the Nerd or The Ladybird Book of the Quiet Night In seem the most likely of the latest releases.

linkJust found another ME joke online. Great click-bait to make people think something from the Hartnell or Troughton era has been found. A sunderland man walks into a bar and says, "i've got a lost doctor who episode that was never lost in the first place". Not funny really.

A " six-part episode". Interesting, I thought they were one ~22min reel with a possible splice or two for commercials?

How many missing Doctor Who episode enthusiasts does it take to change a lightbulb? One to screw it in, and hundreds to parse it to them.
I'll get my coat.

It's originally from the Ladybird book "How it works: Television".
