Just wondering if anyone knows how I can get hold of copies of the Lost Steptoes (the recovered episodes broadcast by the BBC in 1993). They don't ever seem to have had a commercial release....
Are there any good quality off-air dubs, or official sources out there? I'd love to see them again as I only have one of them left on VHS.
Thanks, Anselm.

Some of them certainly made it to BBC Video - I've got a couple of pre-recs.
Anyway, I'm sure they'll make it to DVD eventually!

The same needs to be said about other series the BBC has yet to release on DVD. I am sure eventually they will be on DVD, the question is how long will it take?
Lance.

I have Super VHS off-air copies of all the 'lost Steptoe' episodes, and would be happy to help, if you care to email me: brambell@operamail.com

Was "Men Of Property" ever broadcast on BBC2 anytime during the 1993/95/95/etc repeats?
After showing almost all of the episodes they ended up repeatung ones that they'd already shown, using them as a filler late at night, etc... (The 7 Steptoerai seemed to be shown at least 3 times within a few months).
A friend reckons that they showed Men Of Property (the last episode to be recovered from Galton & Simpson's home recordings) in an unlisted late night filler, but I have my doubts. Would this episode be treated so shoddily? Can anyone confirm if it was shown or not.

Are these the B&W versions of the original colour eps, with the "thanks to the BFI" caption at the end? If so, they've been on UKGold all week...?

Good. Well they at least showed Steptoe and Son, and Son, The Colour Problem and TB, or Not TB, plus a few more, though they had a colour one on yesterday.

These showings were both part of seasons of "Steptoe" repeats.
