I have just bought "Public Eye: The 1971 Season" on DVD, but I was stunned to find that five of the episodes were in black and white and not colour like the rest of the episodes. Why is this so? Also, is the actor Derren Nesbitt still alive?

there was a technicans strike in 1970?/71 some programmes were in b/w i noticed on the coronation street dvd[1970]2 eps were in b/w too.

There was a dispute over pay rates when colour was introduced which dragged on for a couple of years - many ITV shows of the time were affected - including "Upstairs, Downstairs", "Budgie" and "Hadleigh" to name but three drama examples.
