Update from Chris & the lads at kaleidoscope.
The tape containing last wiped totp (08/09/77) was one of the ones destroyed by the missus. Sadly this tape also contained whatever was recorded of 04/08/77

Very sad conclusion, but it will be a reality we will likely see more of.
Even though the original owner was greedy, regrettably its hard to find people who are willing to digitize a video tape collection.
I have a collection going back to the 70s that i offered to be shared with the community and preserved. So far there have been nothing going forward. They are currently not being stored in the best conditions and will likely go to plan b.

Two more TOTP's back
Top of the Pops tx: 9.10.1975
Top of the Pops tx: 17.7.1975
Both hosted by DLT so no chance of either of them appearing on TV anytime soon.
Plus a full copy of Oh Boy from 15/11/1958

They can show clips of the performances in a TOTP2 type format you would think, unless the Hairy Conflake intrudes into these. Personally I'd love to see John Miles doing Highfly from the 9/10/75 episode, a great track and much better than Music.

Yeah, me too, although Music falls into the I know I shouldn't but I love it category.

So, after all these years is there a list of 1974 episodes / performances that exist in the PVL archive? I am particularly interested in info on 21.2.74, 14.3.74 and 28.3.74 colour performances.

Thanks, very interesting. So no performance listings, just general dates with the odd artist mentioned.

What a shame they were binned before they could be properly assessed. As people have said a lot of the binned stuff was probably archived by tv anyway, but still it will be interesting to see what is there and if there's missing totp or other stuff it's a plus.

There was some missing totp recovered - it will have all been catalogued as this thread started 5 years ago. I posted a couple of recoveries that KAL flagged up earlier in the thread.
