I was just wondering if anyone knew what the situation was with the various pilots for the avengers.
I read that at least one complete episode was shot with the woman who was to originally play emma peel, and possibly more footage as well. Never shown for obvious reasons.
Does anyone know what the status of these episodes is?

Does anyone know what the status of these episodes is? IIRC the two episodes in question ("Town of No Return" & "The Gravediggers") had some scenes reshot (with Diana Rigg now playing Emma Peel) and edited into the original episodes - so the status of these would seem clear... I am uncertain what has happened to the footage of the original actress - being shot on film there may well have only ever been a work print in existence. Where that has gone is anyone's guess... |

Elizabeth Shepherd had shot the whole of 'The Town of no Return' and some of 'The Murder Market.' Diana Rigg came on board during the filming of the latter and filmed new material for 'The Town of no Return' later in the recording schedule.
