Anyone know what the current archive status is of Citizen James? The following I know are in existence:
The Race (24/11/60) The Elixir (1/12/60) The Raffle (8/12/60) The Money (15/12/60) The Brand Image (22/12/60) Untitled (29/12/60) Elopement (TX? - it's series 2) The Watchdog (2/11/62)
which, to be honest, is two more than I originally thought. Are there any more episodes still in the archive?

The whole of the first series exists (as you list - I'm still trying to get round to sorting out the episode titles, but they all have them, according to a 1963 BBC Enterprises sales brochure - even if they made them up...), plus four other episodes "Crusty Bread" 9/10/61, "Old Age Pensioner" 4/12/61, "The Watchdog" 2/11/62 and "The Jury" 23/11/62. I don't know whether your "Elopement" is another name for one of those (more research needed...) but if not I don't know who has it but it's not the BBC or the NFTVA... Total episodes = 10

A little more research in less reliable sources than yours (ie. all via the web) indicates that the episode "The Elope" tx'd on 11/12/61 so appears on the surface to be an additional episode to the ones you list.
Certainly having watched it, I can't see how the episode would relate at all to any of the episode titles you mention (Crusty Bread, OAP, Watchdog or Jury).

I'm about as convinced as I can be that this is indeed a "missing" episode sitting in front of me. Have dropped the BBC Treasure Hunt chaps a line to see whether they're interested.

A quick update. Andrew informs me that the correct title for this episode is likely "The Teenagers" - the episode itself is about a couple of teens who run away to get married and Sid has to go and bring them home, so it sounds like this could well be it.
The Treasure Hunt team have emailed to ask if I'd send them a copy, which of course I'll certainly do

It is, according to the Treasure Hunt team. Fan copies clearly exist but it's not listed as being held by the BBC

***Update*** - it's a case of misidentification of the episode that's held by the BBC, it turns out. The BBC hold "Teenagers" (aka "Elope"), and *not* "Old Age Pensioners". The confusion seems to have arisen when someone took the recording date of the former as the tx date - the episodes were recorded exactly one week in advance. So there are still only 10 episodes in existence of the series out of 32 made.

...as my copy is timecoded, as I'm sure yours probably is, unless it went missing recently...
