Looks like this could finally be the news I've been waiting for. As a contributor to the indiegogo campaign I must say that the lack of communication has been appalling. A simple update every couple of months does not seem an unreasonable ask to me even if it was just to say "sorry for the delay but we are continuing to work hard on negotiations" but instead we were greeted with silence for many many many months at a time.
Having said that, I've now experienced the full Orson Welles experience. Paid in the money for the film and spent a long time chasing the good man up for the finished product !
and I don't mind. I hope this is finally finished as far as it can be. The prospect of seeing anything new involving Welles is wonderful. I hope they will utilise film to make an accompanying (lengthy) documentary about the history of the film as well.
If this goes well then I also hope that something positive can happen to all the other unfinished / generally unseen film / tv productions Orson made or left undone. It's hard to think of many people in the arts who were as talented as Orson. He continues to mesmerise.
Has everyone here checked in their cupboards for the Magnificent Ambersons Directors Cut !
