I think the deviser was paying for the bandwidth on the original site? The original site was unique and well designed at the time (2002) and attracted a huge membership and thus the deviser was offered a job at Network because of it? However this large membership was quite lively (with a few nutters) and the result was a fair few political and other rants and also fiery conversations, which also needed quite a few moderators to keep an eye on the place -day and night.. So I think the deviser moved it to a free Pro Boards (like this one) site and allowed those members who had been good boys to join- Apart from the occasional mention of hot potatoes like Jimmy Savile etc the new board is quite mellow compared to the old one and does keep in within it's remit of archive TV. The deviser 'Mr Wolf' does not get involved in conversations or responses anymore as he is in his Network ivory tower and just uses it to promote new Network material. ..something like that anyway.

That seems a rather negative summary and I don't know if it's true/fair.

That seems a rather negative summary and I don't know if it's true/fair. Negative? ?? Unfair? How on earth do you make that out.? Just a potted history that is all of how the M. Club has evolved over the years. It is stated that it's 'something like that' and meant only to be a rough guide. Although it's absolutely true that Mr Wolf has moved onto higher things and does not get involved in the daily chit chat anymore, but part of the site's continuing popularity is the fact he can use it to announce new Network titles.
