Thanks for posting this, John. I had a similar, albeit smaller, situation when I closed down my business . All my records (everything from 15 years) were on mini-disks/floppies. My old pc died and I could not find a new one that had the necessary port. Fortunately my pc at my new place of employment had, surprisingly, a port for such disks, which was odd as they used an intranet, the cloud and thumbdrives exclusively for storage. I basically spent months copying and converting and storing (in multiple formats) everything during my free time. Shortly after I had finished all our old pcs were replaced without notice by new machines, all sans the outdated port. Now I hope that my new versions will be readable in another 10 years!

Interesting. I like how the guy at the end says the best way to save files is to "print them out"....
