Huh - well I 'purchased' the animated Stripe for Frazer - if you enter the code DADSARMY50 you can get a discount.
First I had to create an account with my email address / userid and password. OK - that was free.
Then I searched for the programme and chose to download it. Using the above promotion I got the file for £1.49 - I paid with PayPal - and as is usual with online payments that was the easiest and quickest part of the process.
So the Beeb now has my money. Then I went to download the programme. Well the Store page had a link marked Download. But then I found that I had to download and install the - erm - Downloader.
This I did - and after an age waiting for the download and installation - it appeared to succeed. Yet more bloat clogging my hard-drive.
Then I had to log back into the Store to find the file I'd purchased. Ho hum - I DO hate repeating processes.
I clicked on Download a multiple number of times and finally got the system to 'queue' the download.
AND THAT'S WHEN IT ALL STOPPED WORKING. NO DOWNLOAD. NO FILE. NOTHING.
THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST SYSTEMS EVER - SECOND ONLY TO THE FIASCO OF THE OLYMPIC TICKET SELLING SITE.
The BBC has my money - but the system has refused to let me download the file I'd purchased.
AVOID THIS SYSTEM - ITS A SCAM - AND I STRONGLY OBJECT TO HAVING TO PAY FOR SOMETHING MY LICENCE FEE HAS ALREADY PAID FOR.

P.S. I'm raising a case with PayPal over the BBC's fraud in charging me for something and then not allowing me to access same.

Against PayPal's the Terms and Conditions the BBC Store does not have a workable email address. The one given when making a payment bounces back making it impossible to raise a case about a purchase.

Bloody hell, Stephen, do you overreact this much to everything in your life?
Calm down before you burst something...
PayPal will refund you if all else fails, so contact them by phone and speak to someone.
But I have to pick you up on the last sentence of your first post. Unless you were a licence fee payer in 1969, you haven't paid to watch this, and if you were, then your licence fee in 1969 gave you the right to watch it in 1969. In fact, you wouldn't have already paid for the animation at all - that's why you're being charged £1.49 now. Just to recap - your licence fee gives you access to the broadcast output of the BBC AT THE TIME. You want an old programme from 1969, you pay for it.
Or do you expect BBC Worldwide to give you DVDs for free as well..?
