Sad indeed, William.. I thought that Lemmy would outlive us all (along with Keith Richards). R.I.P., Lemmy.

It's a sad coincidence that I played Lost Johnny off the Hall of the Mountain Grill, Hawkwind album as as the first, definitive track to have the signature Lemmy sound, during a car journey on Xmas night to my friend as part of a long conversation about Lemmy, his longevity, lifestyle and contribution to Rock Music in general, including my friends reminiscences about the Port Vale concert in 1981, where a member of the public who lived some distance away phoned the Police to complain that he couldn't hear The Good Life on his TV, my friend had ringing in his ears for some days after. It would have made a good obituary. RIP doesn't seem right somehow. He will be sadly missed.

Heavy metal isn't really my thing. But Lemmy had quite a run of commercial hits with Motorhead, and before that Hawkwind.
A true rock character, no doubt.
RIP Lemmy.

Much the same Alan, IMHO Hawkwind were never quite the same post Lemmy, a fantastic run of albums.
