Ive been watching the DVD of the 1976 BBC series SAILOR and was fascinated that the Ark Royal had a onboard television station! including a live studio and several "live "shows are featured in the documentary..... there is a tantalising shot of video tape in the studio in one shot , an out of synch tv screen in antother....(possibly showing a commercial show as it seems to be rapidly edited)...the crew even enact "missing" episodes of IT AINT HALF HOT MUM, MAGIC ROUNDABOUT, and the WOMBLES.... soooooooooo did the Royal Navy purchase shows?, do any of you lot have family members who served on the Ark??? and does anybody know why the dvds were "contractually edited" ? and if so , whats missing?
