Is this just me?
Based on what I have seen, every reference to Doctor Who in The Big Bang Theory portrays either the series negatively or uses it as a vehicle to show what a loser the guys would be without the gals. Neither Star Wars nor Star Trek get that treatment; in fact, the producers and writers apparently have said many times that they love these two franchises and the women clearly are OK with them.
I am not a fan of the series to begin with because it is, IMHO, the geek version of "Black Face", but my wife loves it ... and it is the only way she can relate to my behaviour and history in social situations. But I have taken to being out of the room whenever she watches it now because every time I hear DW mentioned, I know some negative stereotype of fans is coming.

I like it as I can relate to a lot of things mentioned.
Firefly has a few jokes at it's expense.

At least the gang are all shown to be actual fans of Doctor Who. It's a long standing joke that Sheldon loathes Babylon 5.

In one episode, Raj says "come on guys we need to watch Star Wars before George Lucas ruins it again". So they have made the odd barbed comment. The show has gone downhill in the last few years, I wouldn't take it too seriously TBH.
