Is there such an archive in the UK - importantly available to the public? Having travelled the world including Australia and New Zealand I have visited lots of local museums which have cylinders on display obviously donated by relatives clearing out their late folks homes. But few if of these ever get restored or played or even better digitised. There's a wealth of old sound recordings out there just waiting to be recovered. The above archive is an excellent start. SB.
