OK, so there's this fuzzy memory that's been in my head for the last couple of decades:
Kid's show (?), 1970s (?): a group of children are underground. A mad scientist is attempting to give his creation (a rather disturbing-looking mute with red hair) a voice by stealing the voice of one of the young boys. It climaxes with the boy repeating "I won't, I won't..." as his voice fades with the red-haired man repeating "I won't, I won't..." louder and louder with a look of maddened triumph on his face.
Does anyone recognise this? And does it exist? Or is my memory playing tricks on me again...?

Sounds like King of the Castle. eps 1,2,3,6,7 have escaped onto the 'trading circle' but I think the other 2 eps are gone - I could be worng though.

Thanks for that guys. Just had a look at the opening sequence on the TV Ark site - I remember this more clearly now (I knew it was a nursery rhyme of some sort that it opened with...).
NickG - are you sure that Episode 3 is out there somewhere? Seems a bit strange that a 1977 production would lose an episode...

Also... Does anyone know which episode the above scene comes from? Would be interesting to see it again to see if it really was that freaky...
