On Friday night on the new talking pictures channel I was watching only 1 of 2 feature-length feature films that southern television's short-lived subsidiary 'southern pictures' made entitled 'richard's things' during the ad breaks they showed the trailer for their second movie 'bad blood'.anyone out there when ITV first showed those 2 movies in 1981? 'Richard's things' was shown on a Sunday night that year & I have a feeling 'bad blood' was seen towards the end of the year & was shown after news at ten.

Glad to report that the picture quality on the channel is now much improved as the resolution since launch up to today had been very low
resolution - Watched The "The Boys" tonight and was broadcast in quite decent quality - keep up the good work.

Rather disappointing content and previews/ pluggs for DVD's all seem to be overscanned spoiling aspect ratio from the 4.3 most would have been originally shown in. Perhaps the young tecno's at these 'nostalgia' channels don't understand folks without wide screen TVs - and there are a lot of them - don't buy DVDs that show badly on air - ironically the modern non-film adverts show perfectly where made in 4.3 rather than 16.9. Please , if anyone from 'Talking Pictures' channel (a lousy name for a claimed 'Classic' British Film TV station is reading this do try to show the previews at the proper aspect ratio - and maybye less antiquated American movies circa 1932 ....... Also, pity this station seems to be only on the Sky package not on Virgin Media and no sign of it on Freeview.

With regard to the "Southern TV shows" bit, someone om Roobarb's been in touch with Renown, who say that they intend to broadcast all they've got of the Southern archive.I wonder how much that is?

What else is in the Southern archive that they could potentially show?
