John Crome has been in touch. The Nancy Sinatra film was shown on WSG.
That sorts that out.
More importantly:- ""John Crome Pictures
09:55
+Ray Langstone I have given U-Matics to the BFI archives""
Excellent news!

(Ever greedy) I wonder if the Youtube set are it,or whether more are involved? p.s. RSG or WSG? Is the latter the Jonathan Ross version?

Drat.He also says "I kept a few of the little films that I made for AWSG.The rest were junked",though elsewhere he says,in reply to "Will you be uploading more?","I don't think so".Which seems to offer a bit of hope.
Thanks again to everyone involved.

I had a reply from him- "Glad you like, sorry no more. The Manfred films were made for Gerry Bronn of Bronze Music MM management, some of the first promos made. TOTP had a miming ban in 1966 so Gerry got round it by filming the bands and giving Johnny the finished film to show. He could also send the film to overseas TV without expensive visits. I made several more but they are long lost. 35 years ago we never thought that anybody today would be interested in such ephemera. Best John
So sadly it seems that's it!

I like the way that John says,in his Youtube comments, that these items "are not 'finds',since I always had them"; they were in his attic all the time.

I like the way that John says,in his Youtube comments, that these items "are not 'finds',since I always had them"; they were in his attic all the time. It's just we colloquially call them finds, because none else, pretty much knew they were about. No slur is meant against the keepers of these films and tapes, but if they are suddenly publicly known about, we have to call them something less than wordy than 'recently unearthed from a personal collection'. Just doesn't have a ring to it, does it`?

A bit O/T here, but I'm keeping an eye on the comments on Youtube.John says that the subjects of his films were mostly chosen by the producer,a former press-editor (he suggests it might have been Tit-Bits).He suspects that there'd been an article about Lalla somewhere, since "we were very cuttings-led".
