There's no telling what we might be getting if they weren't clogging up mid-dawn with bloody advertorial garbage.
Mind you, a lot of those old shows are unrepeatable even when they do exist, because sorting out the actors' clearances is near to impossible.

Martin,
Thanks for the info re. the ABC archive website, much appreciated!
Hopefully the ABC do actually have Andra somewhere (or at least I hope someone else does) as I've read about it and seen pics from it and it looks fantastic.
Yes, it is a bit strange a Martin replying to another Martin eh? Hope some people reading this don't think we are a split personality...

Thank *you* other Martin--it does sound like you've had a fair bit of Australian SF TV (what there is of it) on your set! I saw it the first time round, and personally, it's not much to write home about.... You may be right, but I had a real "that's it!" moment when I found a copy of the novelisation a couple of years ago. Thought I'd been thinking of Luna for all those years...

Oh so there's a novelisation of Andra then? Will have to check out the second hand shops when I go to Sydney and Melbourne next year.
I think part of the fun is actually finding these old shows that you think you'll probably never get to see in your lifetime. And there's always the added bonus of seeing actors in roles when they were younger. If it's good they just look bad. If it's terrible they are younger AND foolish looking! For those reasons I'd probably still enjoy Andra and the likes!

FYI... Louise Lawrence _Andra_ (MacMillan [Topliner Redstar edition], London, 1971, 1976). My copy comes with "As seen on ABC TV" across the lower right corner of the front cover. No sign at the National Library of Australia, but I have heard from someone who had it in their school library.
