Does anything still exist of the Vampira TV show from the 50s? ISTR that nothing was kept, as it was broadcast live, but you know US telly. They made kinescopes of everything! ;D

Sadly I don't know if there is. Nightmare of Ecstasy: The Life and Art of Edward D Wood claims the only known footage of Vampira in costume is from Plan 9 from Outer Space. I have seen it disputed that Rudolph Grey's listing of Wood's television movie The Sun Also Sets being broadcast is incorrect. Having said that it's a great oral history.

David J Skal's excellent book, "The Monster Show", claims that nothing of Vampira's TV work was ever kept and that yes, Plan 9 is unfortunately the only footage we have of her, albeit a few years after her brush with fame. I suspect a lot of her links were done live.
