Caught an excellent episode of this classic series on paramount last night, and was left thinking, not for the first time, why hasn't it got a DVD release?Surely not some tedious rights issue,I can't imagine Fry or Laurie putting a block on it.Could it be that the BEEB don't see it as commercially viable to release it.To my knowledge, the Beeb haven't even repeated it since it ended in 1995,although we did get quite a good Comedy Connections programme, which would make a nice extra feature if they ever do get round to releasing a programme which for me is up there with Python and NOBA.(What little I've seen of what little is left of that!)

I think the complete lack of response on this topic answers my own question. No one's interested in this series anymore, which frankly amazes me.Still, there's always bootlegs on e-bay.

Could I suggest that the lack of response is due to this forum being a missing episodes forum, rather than a prospective DVD release forum, and that this show isn't missing any episodes...

There's plenty of other programmes discussed on this forum that aren't actually missing from the archives, just missing from the public domain because they don't get a DVD release.Monty Python has been discussed in this way, that's not missing from the archives.

I think the Monty Python thread was about missing scenes. But yes, sadly this forum has really gone off-topic of late and seems to be a poor man's Mausoleum Club. I mean, actual postings of missing material coming to light are now very rare. It's a shame.
