Just that. I remember it being mentioned on Victor Lewis-Smith's "TV Hell" as a series which had been almost banned from its very first episode - the hero throws acid in a rival's face - and I assume it is long-gone. Made for Granada: www.imdb.com/title/tt0063870/Also, along similar lines, does anything know whatever happened to a late-70s Sweeney-esque show called "Target", which was also taken to task for being overly violent? Perhaps I'm in a violent mood, I don't know.

A clip from Big breadwinner Hog appeared on C4's TV Heaven segment for the year 1969 in the Choice of Viewing segment. There was only six eps made and I think they still exist with Granada. The other seris you mention,"Target" was a BBC 16mm film job from about 1975 that starred Patrick Mower as a tough cop;was'nt too far away from his charecter of Haggerty from Special branch. The seris has been shown on BSB when that first started and has probably been on UK Gold. I think there was only one seris of Target,as I seem to have the idea that there were only 13 eps made.

I believe there were two series of Target, but in series two the violence was toned down considerably. The series is trapped in clearance hell, as one of the writers refuses to allow it to be released on DVD - or at least that's what Tim Beddows of Network told me when I asked! Target and Hogg are both on my most wanted list - perhaps I'm in a violent mood too......
