networkonair.com/features/2014/11/26/network-itv/ So we are delighted to announce, finally, that we have entered into a new agreement with ITV for a further ten years. This enables us to mine the archives yet further to bring you more hidden gems and titles you thought you would never see again or even imagined as well as continuing our programme of restorations and special editions of the best titles in the collection. We’re also working on new ways to deliver this amazing content to you so whether you love discs, box sets or digital sit back, get comfy and prepare yourself for another journey through time and space…

Yes, just seen it myself, John! Very good news indeed and I can't wait to see what comes next. We all knew there was much much more still to release and another ten year period should hopefully cover everything we've been hoping for! Fingers crossed... (Preparing my huge and revised wish list right now !)

that's the best news I've had all year John...thanks for posting. I will start my list of the shows that exist in the ITV archives and email to Network. If someone is on facebook can they suggest to Network they take a look at the forum 'What would you like to see released on DVD thread'.

Belated credit to John Williams at the MC,where he posted the news at 3:57,so we got it a bit late at 4:15.If only I read my emails... With regard to Simon's point about the ITV archive, one of the most amazing things about Network was that they released 'lost' episodes; Sergeant Cork,Overseas Press Club,a complete run of 'Biggles'...OK,this last one was announced but never came out.Is this sort of thing still possible? Are there likely to be more surprises?

I would think so. The news might be late in coming but it's the best I've heard all year. I hope the release of further ABC material (not part of the ITV deal) is also forthcoming and it would be nice if Network could even extend their territory to include Rediffusion and Southern material. It's a dream, I know, but you have to have 'em!

A note of frustration, perhaps,in being able to announce the news "finally".A reference to downloads,too...

OK,since somebody's mentioned it elsewhere, what's with "through time and space"? Not Doctor Who,obviously,so is it anything more than a throwaway line?

Ah, Network. Or as BBC TV's Head of Archive once described them to me "What's Network? Who are they, again?"

The comments/suggestions on the Network page are worth a read.I spotted one or two familiar names! Don't quite agree that there's a pressing need to remaster 'The Bounder',though I can't fault the line that "TV releases have been somewhat eclipsed by films,of late"...
We don't know when the deal was signed; it would be nice if material had been a preparin' over the last few months, but in that case,I'd have expected the first batch of titles to have been listed yesterday.

Yes, The Bounder re-master, you mean? Along with a deluxe box set of Fiddlers Three and Yus My Dear maybe.

John, here is the link networkonair.com/features/2014/11/26/network-itv/ My comments/suggestions are nearly at the bottom, Laurence and Simon Coward's at half way down.
